Final Project

In the final two weeks of the internship, we focused on researching and preparing a final capstone project presentation. This presentation was a unique opportunity as we had the chance to present before the CEO, Bank President, TFO President, mentors, and other Parkside employees, which is uncommon in most internship programs.

This summer, our final presentation revolved around the bank’s preparation and survival during a recession. Given the significance of this topic in 2022/2023, we extensively researched and acquired valuable insights we believed would be beneficial in navigating challenging times throughout our future careers.

A significant portion of our time was dedicated to meeting with seasoned employees who had firsthand experience during the 2008 recession. It was truly enriching to interact with numerous Commercial Lenders and Trust & Family Office Relationship Managers, who openly shared insights about their careers and past encounters during economic downturns. Their willingness to guide us and contribute to our learning process for the final presentation was greatly appreciated.
