Patrick Bolster

Hi, my name is Patrick Bolster and I’m from St. Louis, MO. I am a rising junior in the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University majoring in Accounting and Finance.

At school I am involved in a fraternity and work in the student run coffee shop in the main library on campus. Being from St. Louis, I am a Cardinals and Blues fan (and a former Rams fan). I was drawn to Parkside because of the unique culture that the bank emphasizes.

Parkside is filled with wonderful people that care about each other and their work. From the top down, there is a clear importance on growth and development within the company. This has manifested itself in the internship as mentors are always willing to help with projects and fill in any gaps in knowledge that might be hindering us. The rotational aspect of the internship has allowed us to get a sense of all the different aspects of the bank while also connecting with a wide array of people.

Amidst a global pandemic, I have greatly appreciated the effort of everybody on the Parkside team in helping us to have a great internship experience.

Britni Gortner

Hi! My name is Britni Gortner and I am from Monticello, IL. I will be a senior at Mizzou this fall, dual majoring in Finance and Economics. I am also the Vice President of Finance for Mizzou’s Collegiate DECA chapter.

I was first drawn to Parkside because of the people and the rotational aspect of the internship program. By the end of my first day, I had met numerous remarkable people who were all there to help me succeed. The hands-on experience provided at Parkside has been extremely beneficial to my education and understanding of finance in the real world.

I was provided with meaningful projects to work on each day and never felt like I was just being handed busy work. My mentors provided valuable feedback that helped me to grow my skills and knowledge in all areas of the bank and trust.

One of my favorite parts of the internship was Parkside’s culture. Everyone was more than willing to grab lunch or a coffee and chat. I got to know everyone not only on a professional level, but also personally, which is unique for an internship and what makes Parkside special.

Matthew Gregor

Hi, my name is Matthew Gregor and I am from Edwardsville, IL. I attend my hometown university, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, and will graduate this fall with a bachelor’s degree in finance. I stay busy on campus by participating in campus ministry, attending sporting events, and researching under my professor. Outside of campus, I enjoy watching hockey and playing soccer.

Parkside’s internship program has been thoroughly enjoyable. Their awesome culture is reflected in their willingness to have in internship, amid a global pandemic. The team is full of intelligent professionals whose goal is to sharpen your existing skills while learning new ones. The various mentors provided to you are happy to help with everything.

Parkside’s faith in their interns is echoed in their unwavering trust. You are constantly given meaningful projects with importance. The rotational aspect of the internship is invaluable. It allows you to get experience in several areas while narrowing your focus on the ones that interest you.

Emiley Zegar

Hi, my name is Emiley Zegar and I am from Chicago, IL. I will be entering my senior year at Mizzou this fall. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance & Banking with Real Estate. I enjoy keeping myself busy while being actively involved on campus and in my Greek chapter where I have served on the executive board for two consecutive years. I also enjoy traveling, trying out new restaurants in town, and spending time with friends and family.

From the beginning, Parkside has equipped me with everything I needed to gain valuable internship experience while being unique in the fact that I was able to rotate through different areas of the bank. The rotational aspect has allowed me to connect with numerous people and mentors who offer a wealth of knowledge and varying degrees of experience.

Parkside has shown me a culture I never anticipated and is truly unique and uncommon, the culture is nothing short of a family feel each day I walk into the office, and has helped me feel comfortable and confident in the workplace.

Coming into the internship, I was unsure where it would take me, I can confidently say Parkside has helped me with making a decision for the future and I am nothing but grateful for the opportunity and experience Parkside has provided.
