Reagan Curtis

Hi! My name is Reagan Curtis. I was born and raised just outside of Birmingham, AL. I am going to be a senior at Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville where I am studying Accounting and a member of the softball team.

Being a student-athlete, everything becomes very time consuming and you have to really focus on time management. I am very passionate about school, but I also try to make time to do things that I enjoy. In my free time I love to travel, visit my family and friends, and watch Food Network (even though I am not the best cook).

Going into this internship I did not know what to really expect, but the thought of me entering my first internship seemed a bit intimidating. I quickly found out there was nothing to be intimidated about.

Parkside is a place with so much family atmosphere. Everyone here is so welcoming and you always see everyone with a smile on their face. Having a smaller number of employees, Parkside allows you to receive great one-on-one experience and your hard work gets easily recognized. By the end of this internship, I hope to gain a better understanding of what I would be interested in doing after I graduate.

Drake Naylor

Hi, my name is Drake Naylor and I’m going to be a senior at Mizzou next year. I am majoring in finance and plan to go into wealth management or banking. When I’m not at school or work, I like to read, listen to music and podcasts, and play video games with my friends.

Coming from a small town in Northwest Missouri, I had some apprehensions about living in a big city like Saint Louis. I was also not sure what I wanted to do once I was done with school. Both of these concerns have been dulled by the great experience I’ve had at Parkside.

The best part of my internship has been doing meaningful work that gets recognized by senior management. I get a feeling here that I wouldn’t expect from a work environment. I can sense the camaraderie and cooperation that permeates the office every day. This helps to make the city feel more welcoming, and it makes my career path a bit clearer.

Melissa McDaniel

Hi! My name is Melissa McDaniel. I’m a 20 year old STL native and this fall I will be starting my senior year at Saint Louis University. At SLU, I study Finance and am involved with a sorority. I plan to become a CTFA after I graduate.

In my free time, I like to watch Food Network (Reagan copied me). My favorite color is yellow and I absolutely love country music. I chose to intern at Parkside because I felt immediately at home when I walked through the door.

Being an outgoing person, I was worried about interning at a bank because banks have a reputation of not having much personality. That is not the case at Parkside. Everyone here welcomes you with open arms. In addition to experiencing the amazing culture here at Parkside, I’m getting the opportunity to figure out my career path. I had no idea what I wanted to do before I was an intern, but Parkside has given me an opportunity to decide what I want to do.

Andrew Vance

Hello, my name is Andrew and I’m from Arnold, Missouri. I’m currently finishing up my studies in financial services at Maryville University. With my degree in financial services, I plan on getting my CFP and going into financial planning or wealth management. I enjoy spending time outdoors, working out, and hanging out with friends and family.

I chose Parkside because it is very unique in the fact that they allow you to rotate around the whole bank while learning the main sections: Commercial Banking, Family Office and Trust, 401k, and Lobby, Finance, and Treasury Management. This allows us interns to get a great grasp on each of the main areas of the bank while working with different mentors daily.

So far I’ve gotten to meet and work with so many great people through this rotation process. Also, I’ve gotten to work on real projects where I get to utilize what I’ve learned in school so far.
