Jessie Deutschmann

LinkedIn Profile

Hi! My name is Jessie Deutschmann, and I am from Ballwin, MO. In the fall, I will be a junior at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, studying Finance with a minor in Accounting. Currently, I am the Director of Financial Operations for my sorority and am a part of three on-campus organizations: Women in Finance, Tennessee Capital Markets Society, and UT Investment Group. I also work in Tennessee’s Masters Investment Learning Center, where I assist students in learning Bloomberg data analysis.

I was drawn to Parkside’s internship because of the unique rotational program. This internship enables me to investigate various careers and determine where my skills and interest would be most beneficial.

I love working at Parkside because of the special culture. Since my first day of work, everyone at Parkside has been very welcoming and eager to help in any way possible. Employees strive to form genuine relationships within the office and outside with their clients.

Graham Johnson

LinkedIn Profile

Hello! My name is Graham Johnson, and I am from Des Peres, MO. I will be a junior at Miami University of Ohio in the fall at the Farmer School of Business, studying Finance with a minor in Business Analytics. On campus, I am a member of my social fraternity, the Miami University Asset Management Club, and the Real Estate Club. In my spare time, I enjoy working out, playing sports, chess, and spending time with my friends.

I chose Parkside because the initial job posting title caught my eye, the Uncommon Internship. In most internships, they have a particular concentration, such as data entry or auditing, but Parkside puts importance on several components of the industry. As someone who does not know what to do with their career, Parkside has exposed me to more than one career path and the culture built here has shown itself to be tight knit and collaborative.

Cameron Thomas

LinkedIn Profile

Hello, my name is Cameron Thomas. I am a rising senior within the John E. Simon Business School at Maryville University and majoring in Finance with a minor in Management Information System. A resident from Hazelwood, MO and I am delighted and thankful to intern and attend school near my home.

In addition to my studies, I am actively involved on campus in Maryville's Bascom Honors Program, Multicultural Scholars Program, Resident Assistant program, and as a senior member of the campus Pack Leader Tour Team. Outside of campus, I spend my free time going to the gym, assembling Lego sets, studying aviation, running my businesses, tasting new local eateries, and attending hockey games!

While engaging in the Parkside internship program, I have been able to learn and advance along with my co-interns with real-world experiences. This has been a remarkable journey, as the focus on cooperation has created an open, amicable, and enjoyable atmosphere, which is uncommon in many other organizations. Our internship is structured in a way that allows us to be exposed to multiple departments where we can network, take initiative and take part in projects that are relevant to what we are studying academically. This has aided me in comprehending the intricate concepts which directly influence the finance industry and some of the career choices that are accessible. I am thankful for the exceptional time at Parkside, and it has provided me with the opportunity to take another step toward uncovering what is next on my career course after graduation.

Anjali Yadav

LinkedIn Profile

Hi, my name is Anjali Yadav. I am a rising junior in the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina. I am pursuing a degree in Finance with a concentration in Data Analytics. On campus I am involved in multiple organizations, including the South Carolina Honors College, Women in Business Council, Delta Sigma Pi Business Fraternity, Best Buddies, and TriDelta Sorority.

What drew me to Parkside is the unique rotational program and mentorship/relationship-building opportunities. I am not confident about what sector of finance I would like to work in post-graduation, but this internship is providing me with the exposure and experience needed to make that decision. By shadowing my mentors and building relationships with people in all different departments, I see firsthand what every day looks like for them.

Two other factors that influenced my decision were the firm’s location and its culture. I was born in St. Louis and moved to Raleigh, NC when I was 8. I’m ecstatic that this opportunity brought me to St. Louis to spend a few months in a city that will forever be home to me. On our first day, we were introduced to everyone in the office. It is abundantly clear that people are genuine; they want to get to know you and help in any way possible. There is a true sense of community in this building, and I can't wait to continue exploring all that Parkside has to offer me during my internship.
