Capstone Project
For the 2025 Intern Capstone Project we were assigned the task of creating a theoretical Parkside expansion business model. This included conducting research and evaluating how banks and wealth management firms can successfully enter a new geographic or demographic market. We concentrated our efforts on key consideration factors such as regulatory factors, client needs, competitive landscape, and go-to-market strategies.
After two weeks of research, data collection, and analysis we determined three unique markets that we believe would benefit well from Parkside’s expansion. These three cities were Forth Worth, Nashville, and Raleigh. These markets each were chosen because of their similar size to St. Louis and their proximity to our locations and network. In addition, these cities each showed immense GDP and population growth, a rise in high net worth individuals, and other profitable distinct characteristics such as the oil and gas industry in Texas. We explained why these cities were chosen in more detail and displayed a market entry plan for each including opening a family office or bank branch first.
On our last day as interns in the office we presented our findings to our Parkside co workers and applied what we learned this summer into our presentation. We ended our capstone project by sharing our gratitude for this summer, our mentors, and all we had learned.
Thank you again Parkside for an amazing summer full of fun, wisdom, and experience!
