Picnics & Lunches

Picnics & Lunches

The interns and mentors, as well as a few others, gathered for a picnic in Shaw Park during the third week of our internship. Shaw Park is just a short walk from Parkside, making it the perfect place to meet up. The picnic was BYOB (Bring Your Own Blanket) as we spread out in the grass to practice social distancing. Parkside provided a delicious, custom ordered lunch for everyone there. They also ordered cookies, which was a nice surprise treat. The mentors moved around, making sure to talk to each of us interns to make us all feel welcomed. The family-like culture of Parkside was reconfirmed at the picnic, with everyone smiling and laughing together. No one wanted to leave the fun, so we stayed and chatted as long as we could.

Meeting up for lunch or coffee is a great way to get to know the Parkside team. Scheduling time outside of meetings allowed us to connect with others on a more personal level. Everyone on the Parkside team was excited to grab a bite with the interns, so we did just that. For example, each of us had lunch with Andrew Hereford, the President of the Bank, towards the beginning of the internship program. We also scheduled lunches with advisors, analysts, lenders, and more. Parkside is unique in the fact that we are able to make a genuine connection with everyone, from top management down.
