Lunchtime at Parkside

One of the most fun parts of the Parkside internship program is lunchtime. Throughout the summer we had Lunch N’ Learn meetings with various employees. Lunch N’ Learns provide an intimate setting where we were given the chance to hear about different functions at Parkside from the individuals who run them. Everyone was more than willing to share their career path with us as well as answer any questions we had. Jessica Koch always makes sure we are well fed at our Lunch N’ Learn meetings, bringing in food from places like Sauce on the Side, Butler’s Pantry and Crushed Red. It’s nearly impossible to be left hungry at Parkside!

Clayton has the perfect downtown area for walking to lunch or grabbing a coffee – and Parkside is at the heart of it all. This summer we have enjoyed heading across the street to City Coffee House & Creperie for iced coffee, or when we want more of an afternoon stroll we will walk the extra two blocks to Starbucks. Bringing a packed lunch from home can be a great way to save money and Parkside has a nice porch for us to enjoy our lunch break on but we do make an effort to treat ourselves to eat at the surrounding restaurants.  

One lunch we got together with two current employees, Britni and Drake, who were actually Parkside interns in years prior! This was an awesome chance to learn about their transition from the summer intern program to full-time work after graduation. We were also able to grab lunch with important decision makers like Bank President, Andrew Hereford. Everyone at Parkside was eager to get to know us and all were more than happy to join us for lunch.
