First Week & Salesforce Rotation
Overview
Our first week as part of the Parkside team was full of warm welcomes and new experiences. Tuesday was full of onboarding and tours of the office, followed by a briefing on Salesforce on Wednesday and the assignment of our first project! Thursday and Friday brought introductions to more and more of Parkside’s incredible employees and a trip to the new Midtown Topgolf with our mentors.

Getting to know everyone at Parkside the first week was a blast! The other interns and I enjoyed all of the warm welcomes we were given, as well as some great lunches. On Wednesday, we started familiarizing ourselves with Salesforce, and our meetings with Shelby helped to define the scope of the reports to begin converting. The fun continued on Thursday; we all arrived at Top Golf in the afternoon to enjoy some great food and even better company. Our first week as Parkside Interns came to a close on Friday as we finished up the Salesforce tasks. I am so excited to spend the rest of this summer learning and developing my professionalism with this fantastic company!

The first week here at Parkside was a quick but exciting introduction to both the bank and the people we will be working with—our first day consisted of a tour and meeting soon-to-be familiar faces, and on Wednesday we jumped right into our first project. Shelby introduced us to Salesforce, and we spent the week building/transitioning reports onto the new database. We ended our day Thursday by heading to the new TopGolf in Midtown with our mentors; it was nice to talk and get to know everybody a little better outside of the office. The week ended with a quick half-day spent finishing up our first project, capping off a very fun and exciting first week.

I was pleasantly surprised to find out how friendly and welcoming all of the people at Parkside are. Our first day was full of raving reviews about the culture and work environment here, which made me incredibly excited for the weeks to come. Wednesday, we spent the day familiarizing ourselves with Salesforce and beginning our first project after Shelby walked us through some of the basics. On Thursday we continued transitioning the reports and dashboards on XLR8 to the new Parkside Salesforce platform, and in the afternoon, headed east to the new Topgolf location in Midtown for a fun afternoon spent with our mentors! Friday, our first official half-day as interns flew by as we wrapped up creating any remaining reports in Parkside’s salesforce database.

As many know, starting a new internship can be nerve-wracking. However, Parkisde quickly made me feel at home throughout the first week. On the first day, we were already introduced to our mentors for the summer over lunch and began to get to know each other. Everyone in the office welcomed us and would make time to introduce themselves. We jumped right into completing our first project with replicating reports and dashboards to ease Parkside’s transition to a new Salesforce environment. Also, during the first week we were taken to Topgolf with the mentors to bond outside of the office! By the end of the first week, I had the pleasure of meeting people in every division of Parkside, had already felt relaxed in a new workplace, and had a much better understanding of what Parkside does.
